LyonCTP Limited is an independent practice specialising in town and country planning. Based in Norwich, Norfolk. Established in 2014 by Dr Michelle Lyon BSc(Hons) PGCert PGDip DProf MRTPI FHEA. Offering research, training and advice, LyonCTP helps with projects from the straightforward to the complex.
Michelle Lyon is a Chartered Town Planner and academic. Michelle holds a BSc(Hons) and PGDip in Environmental Planning, a Professional Doctorate in town planning, and a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. She has been a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) for over 20 years and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). With experience in LPA development management, research, university lecturing and private practice, Michelle can help you research, learn and navigate the planning system.
Research
Enabling Informed Understanding
Research specialisms are planning implementation, English planning system, the impacts of planning processing and decision making, and development management.
By adapting a methodology to facilitate tracing large data sets spread over long periods, LyonCTP can find and interpret existing planning data to provide new insights.
Articulation of the findings can be tailored to a wide range of audiences, including academics, professional practitioners, specialist interests and lay people.

Whether you require knowledge improvement in aspects of the planning system, or skills development in professional judgement and articulation, LyonCTP has the knowledge, skills and experience to help with all of these.
As a former lecturer in town planning implementation, and with a background in LPA development management, Michelle is ideally placed to provide professional practice education on a wide range of planning matters to Members and staff in the public, private and third sectors.
